王就心裏傷慟，上城門樓去哀哭，一面走一面說：「我兒押沙龍啊！我兒，我兒押沙龍啊！我恨不得替你死，押沙龍啊，我兒！我兒！」 33 The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept. As he went, he said: 「O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you--O Absalom, my son, my son!」

於是王起來，坐在城門口。眾民聽說王坐在城門口，就都到王面前。以色列人已經逃跑，各回各家去了。 8 So the king got up and took his seat in the gateway. When the men were told, 「The king is sitting in the gateway,」 they all came before him. Meanwhile, the Israelites had fled to their homes.
