我就觀看，見有一匹灰色馬；騎在馬上的，名字叫作死，陰府也隨著他；有權柄賜給他們，可以用刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫〔或譯：死亡〕、野獸，殺害地上四分之一的人。 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
